Tim Tebow, Done in the NFL?

Tebow's  Leaving Remarks on Twitter
The NFL regular season started this week and prior to the start, players fought for their positions during the preseason. They were fighting for a spot on the 53 man rosters of one of the 32 teams in the league. One major person that didn't get to keep his spot this season was New England Patriots' quarterback, Tim Tebow, who they picked up from the New York Jets.

During one of his last preseason performances, he completed 6 of 11 passes, threw 2 touchdowns and 1 interception. Those stats did not make for a bad night, but not necessarily the best when your fighting  another player for the #2 spot behind Tom Brady.

He had ESPN and all other major sports networks buzzing about what could come of him being cut, not picked up by another team shortly after, and not even considering the thought of switching his position (based on his size, 6ft 3in tall at 245).  (Mixed clips of ESPN analysts opinions)

Tebow has also had the Twitter-sphere in a frenzy. Some football fans are getting down right nasty about the cut with their comments while others are offering up words of encouragement.

I think people need to keep in mind that he was going to be and has been back up for two future Hall of Fame QB's, Tom Brady (NE) and Peyton Manning (DEN). He was also back up to Mark Sanchez, who is not even an elite QB, so his playing time would have been a complaint for some even if he wasn't cut. But, hopefully within the next few weeks or so we can hear more from Tebow outside of social media and analysts on how he feels about his current situation or even get picked up by a team.

  1. I think Tim Tebow was screwed from the beginning for agreeing to go with Patriots. I don't know much about any football teams and players, besides the Eagles but even them I have a hard time keeping up, but I feel as though Tebow should've seeked a team that needed a starting quarterback. Like you said, Tebow was back up for both Brady and Manning, two super bowl winning quarterbacks, Mark Sanchez. He's proven he has more than the necessary skills that's needed to be a starting quarterback. One of those times was the season when he replaced Kyle Orton as the Bronco's starter, taking the team to the playoffs only to be knocked out of the second round by none other than the Patriots. If that doesn't say that he should find a team that will start him then I don't know what does.

    1. I agree that he's a good QB, but I don't know how many teams are in need of a starting one at the moment. However, if Geno Smith doesn't get it together and Sanchez ends up being out for the season, Tebow might want to head back to the Jets. I also think that him being completely against trying a new position may not be the best idea. No one knows if he'll be good at the suggested position of TE unless he gives it a try.
